Almost everyone must be knowing who he is or at least have heard about him.
The True Name- is about the talks on the "Japji Saheb" of Guru Nanak Dev.
Japji Sahib is a universal sacred hymn about God composed by Guri Nanak Dev ji, the founder of the Sikh faith.
I haven't read much but the part where he writes about how Nanak attained God makes wonder. I am seventeen years old and until now I've always been asked to meditate because it is a path that will take me closer to God. There are people who believe that only practicing meditation will take you closer to God.
Nanak attained God, his beloved by singing to him. I was amused. The first thing to be realised is that Nanak practiced no meditation on yoga, he only sang. He sang with all his heart and soul, so much that his singing became meditation. Whenever a person persons any act with all his heart and soul, that act becomes the path. Endless meditation, if half hearted, will take you nowhere. A simple song with all your being merged in it, or a dance with the same total absorption will take you to God. The question is not what you do, but how much of yourself you involved in the act.
And it's true, everyone who reads this may not be believing in God. So lets take it the other way, if you put your heart and soul in what you do then no one can stop you from acheiving what you want to.
It's not some theory or some technique. It's just believing in yourself and giving your best in what you do.
A very well written blog for all the people who believe in god and even for those who don't believe in god.
